Head up to your landing page and click on the order link. If you don’t have a landing page and you are sending the traffic directly to the publisher website, than don’t. First build your list and only after someone opt-in than he is redirected to the affiliate product. If you are still on your mind and you want to send the traffic directly ( there are product that convert better like this ) than just go to the publisher website and click on the order button. In both cases you should arrive to the publisher website and click on the order button. Now when you see the clickbank payment page scroll down to the end of the page and see this:

[Affiliate= your affiliate username]

Here is the answer.

When you are promoting an affiliate product from clickbank dot com, you get your own unique affiliate link like this:

http://nickname.productname.hop.clickbank.net

Now if someone watch this product and wants to get it for a discounted price, all he has to do is to register with clickbank (if he’s not alreay registered) and change your affiliate nickname to his affiliate nickname. That’s all he has to do and he will get the product for a discount, and the commission will go directly to his clickbank account. That’s why you should always cloak your affiliate links when you promote a product. Even if you use adwords, or free traffic strategies, always be sure to cloak your link so people can not steal it from you. Your hard work of promoting can’t be just wasted for two seconds of cloaking a link.

Don’t underestimate the cloaking procidure. Check your link 10 times and be sure that they are cloaked well and still getting to the publisher website.

So after you have registered with clickbank and you have your own account, all you have to do to get your affiliate link is to head up to the clickbank marketplace and look for a product to promote. If you don’t know how to choose a good product than you can read here on my blog about that topic. When you are in the marketplace and you know which product you want to promote, just click on the “create hoplink” under the product description and a new window will pop-up. This new window will tell you how much you can earn per sale in percentage, and ask you to fill in your clickbank nickname and an tracking code. This tracking code is very important to use because when the sales will start rolling in you will have to know from what product they are coming, and what is the product that you are sending the most traffic. Those detailes can be found in the “statistics” on the clickbank menu.

So, simply add your nickname and add a tracking code so you will be able to identify this product afterwords. Now click on the create hoplink and walla! You have your affiliate link ready for you to promote the heck out of it.

Lets say you are registered at Clickbank dot com as an affiliate, and you’re promoting their products. You start doing a very hard work by promoting and advertising on all kinds of places. Now when you recommend your product to someone who knows clickbank, he can simply register for an account if he does not already have one, and grab the product with his own affiliate link and get a 35%-75% discount. He pay’s for the product, get it for the real price, and the percentage is going to his clickbank affiliate account.

That sucks!

Cloaking a link will take you less than a minute, and you’ll be sure no one is grabbing your money. Well not sure, but most of the profits will stay yours.

So, here’s how to cloak your links and prevent people to steal your commissions.

Download the profit protector. Don’t worry, it’s a freeware.

Now as you can see in this example, the link is ugly and very long. Cloaking your links can help you with making your links nice and professional, and at the same time protect your commission.

As you can see it look great, and it does the same job.

Here how to do it yourself:

Open the Profit Protector software. Now you’ll have area’s, one for your affiliate link, and one for your page title. The page title is what people will see in the blue bar at the top of the page. The Profit Protector will simply create one html page for your with a cloaked link. All you have to do to use this page is to create a directory for it on your server as I did for the name “/DownloadPP” and upload the html page to your server. When the software ask’s you what name you want to give to the file, just call it index. Never forget to check the link after you uploaded. In some cases if not always you’ll see that the software has called the file “index.HTML” which is not got for you and the link will not work. Go to the file on your server and rename that file again to “index.html” and you’re done. Now check your links again and they should work.
