I would like to start the first post of 2009 with a step by step guide for the newbies. I will make the guide in a few post where every post will be a step to succeed as an affiliate marketer. So, lets get right to it.
You have two options to start from:
1. You can buy a domain and own it for as long as you pay for it. Domain is the address where you click in your browser, for example:
http://www.imblogging.com
This is a domain name. When you go and buy your private address (domain) , you’ll have to purchase hosting too. Hosting is the place to put the files of your website. There are thousands of hosting companies that will let you put your files on their server for a small fee. If you’re not on a budget, you can always get yourself free hosting. There are companies that provide free hosting for the people who don’t have the budget in exchange for producing banner ads on your website header or footer and other advertisements. I don’t recommend on the free hosting in any way. You can get free hosting ONLY for testing things before you go live. If you’re going to be a successful affiliate marketer you must respect the people who visit your site and not to show all kind of ads and advertisements.
2. You can start a free blog in one of the big blogging systems like Blogger.com, Wordpress.com, and so on. If you think about starting a free blog in the start that’s pretty cool, but remember, things that you don’t pay for you just can’t appreciate, that’s why you need to buy a domain. If you still feel that I’m wrong than go for it, there are special people in the world, I’m just talking from 10 years of experience:)
How To Buy A Domain :
When I’m going to buy a domain name I look for the best prices that I can achieve because I buy lots of domains, so here is how I find the best price for a domain. I’m just going to google and I type “Cheap Domains”, usually Godaddy.com will pop first and as far as I know they have the best prices. Remember NOT to go to Godaddy.com directly because you’ll not get the domain for the lowest price, Google for cheap domains and continue from there. Don’t worry, even if you don’t see the discount when you buy the domain, you’ll see it in the last step before payment. All you have to do is to click on that link and you’ll be taken to the Godaddy website and get a nice discount.
Now, before you do this you will have to get to Godaddy.com and register a new account, then you do this trick and you’ll see that you can pay thru your account and still get the discount. If you have any questions about this buying a domain name than just post your question in the comments area.
How To Register A Free Blog At Wordpress.org :
To register your free blog simply head over to Wordpress.com and click on the “Sign Up Now!” button.
Register your free account and you’ll see how easy it is to create your own blog. If you want to start your blog at another place you can use Blogger.com or just Google for “free blog”. If you have any question regarding the blogs section feel free to ask them in the comments area.
